Paula, give a little background history of yourself.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m a lifelong athlete, former varsity soccer and cross country coach, mom to four awesome kids, wife to one awesome man, and a pretty good cook.<\/strong> What made you decide to pursue this area of study (i.e. Exercise Science)?<\/p>\n Initially, I wanted to learn more about resistance training. I knew very little about weight lifting and how to <\/strong>properly implement a program into my coaching.<\/strong><\/p>\n What made you to decide to pursue this interest in the Exercise Science program at ACC?<\/p>\n After taking the FITT 1401 class, I knew I wanted to complete the program to better myself as a coach and begin my career as a 1 on 1 personal trainer and coach.<\/strong><\/p>\n What was the most challenging\/difficult part of the program?<\/p>\n Anatomy & Physiology and program design, no doubt.<\/strong><\/p>\n What was the best\/most beneficial part of the program?<\/p>\n The time spent in lab.<\/strong><\/p>\n Are you currently employed as a Personal Fitness Trainer? If so, at what capacity? If not, why not?<\/p>\n Yes. I work for a large gym as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. I\u2019ve obtained 3 additional certifications since completing the Exercise Science program <\/strong>at ACC one year ago. I\u2019ve advanced quickly due to my knowledge and understanding of program design and kinesiology. I give ACC full credit for that knowledge.<\/strong><\/p>\n If you had a single piece of advice for someone interested in being a Personal Fitness Trainer, what would it be?<\/p>\n
